Thursday morning at 9:15 we had an appointment with Dr. David for Jen's 38 week checkup. Jen had been having steady contractions (every 2-3 minutes) for the past week but they were not strong enough to make much progress. Jen is a very happy pregnant girl but the lack of progress was making her much less happy. We were informed that she had a lot of amniotic fluid this time (not uncommon in a 3rd pregnancy) and speculated that without help we may not see Cassie until well into the New Year. Since we were already past the stage that CJ and Maddie were delivered we were very happy when Dr. David suggested that we could induce tomorrow (being Friday). Jen and I sat quietly awaiting a "better offer" and Dr. David, sensing this continued "....or today." YES, YES, YES. She made a call and sent us over to Labor and Delivery even though she already had 3 other pregnancies in progress and a C-section scheduled. The woman is amazing. Jen was hooked up to Pitosin at 11:30 am. Once Dr. David took care of the rest of the deliveries and started her C-section she OK'd the breaking of Jen's water at 5:10pm. Jen was 5 centimeters prior to the breaking of her water. As soon as her water was broken, her contractions grew in strength and frequency (every 60 seconds). At 5:50, Dr. David, having just finished her c-section across the hall, came in just in time as Jen had dilated to 10 and was ready to push. 6 minutes later...let me type that again so you know it wasn't a mistake...6 minutes later at 5:56 pm on Thursday December 28th and about 5 pushes into hard labor Cassidy Louise Lallo made her debut. Weighing in at 8 lbs. even and 20 in. long (our longest baby yet) she is a CHILLED out baby. Big Brother and Big Sister are being helpful and are always asking if they can kiss "Baby Cassie". Our growing family is having fun with our new addition and we are in love with this little girl. More pictures to come.

Christmas Costumes
Yes, you read that correctly. The kids love to play dress up and pretend and since all the Halloween costumes go on sale right as the shopping season started we...er...Santa decided that the would make a couple great stocking stuffers. Too bad that Superman one didn't come in Daddy size.

Christmas Morning
We took a picture after Santa left but before the kids woke up (not easy to do). We took a lot of video but only a few pictures.

Christmas Card
We decided to do our own Christmas card picture this year. Anyone who has seen it has asked how we got the kids to pose and smile so well for the picture. As you can see from this album, it was hardly an immediate success.
Merry Christmas from the Lallo's

So, we've been busy

Here are a couple pictures from the Wisemans Halloween party. I was some sort of rocker and Jen was a fairy. Her costume was a little understated compared to "Hot Little Red" from last year but that is only because she is now 32 weeks pregnant. Yup, that's right. Most of you probably already know but just in case here is our official web announcement. We are expecting another little girl, Cassidy Louise Lallo (we will call her Cassie)on January 7th (Jen is calling December 29th, she is usually right). So, we should have an eventful holiday season. If you do the math, you will find the conception falling right around the Disney trip documented a few posts down. No pictures of that part though. hehe:)

The dude goes to preschool
CJ is 3 1/2 now and just started preschool in September. He absolutely LOVES it. His teacher is very sweet and soft-spoken and CJ really responds to her. He is making new friends in his class and is learning a TON. By the way, did you know that firefly's are a form of beetle? Yeah, neither did we. He had told Jen that a ladybug was a form of beetle a week earlier and she freaked out about how smart he was so we just figured he was looking for a similar response. "Actually buddy, I think that a beetle is just an insect", "I SAID a firefly is a form of BEETLE!!" is the response. OK, first of all, how does he even know what "form of" is let alone what a firefly is a form of. So, a quick google search results in a 31 year old dad sheepishly apologizing to his 3 year old for questioning him. That will teach us.

Disneyland and California Adventure

We went to Disneyland and California Adventure two different days and thankfully had family with us to help with the kids so Jen and I could fit in a couple "grown-up" rides. We all managed to track down most of the "big-name" characters for the kids and stayed both nights until after dark. Soaring Over California was probably the coolest ride I have ever been on, definately check it out if you ever get the chance. The kids were fantastic travelers the whole time.
One thrill to avoid would be getting lost on the way back from Disney and having to turn around on both Martin Luther King Blvd. and Crenshaw Blvd. in Compton. Rule of thumb, if the street name was ever featured in a rap song, avoid it. Check here for a pretty big gallery. Thanks to Aunt Kate and Mom (Polly) for their pictures.

Legoland

This whole place is made of Lego's!! Ok, the trees, streets, rides and buildings aren't but you wouldn't believe the sheer size and detail that can be achieved from these tiny little building blocks. There was a lot to walk through and look at for Maddie but she essentially got the short straw until she is older. There was also a roller coaster with a 40" height limit so we spiked up CJ's hair for the final 1/4 inch needed and he proceded to ride this thing 3 times! For a "kiddie-coaster" this thing was nothing like we expected but he LOVED it. The kid's not even 3 yet!!! The Kid-Power Tower, CoasterSaurus and a bunch of stuff made out of Lego's (if I failed to mention that) made for a really fun day. Click on the title or here for more pictures.

Danny's Recital and Hotel Fun in California

Di-Neee-Land!! Di-Neee-Land!!
Spring Break brought us to Sunny California for Danny's Graduation Recital and some theme park action. We had a FUN-FILLED week for the kids and a little adult fun thrown in. Here are some pictures from the recital and our hotel with Jen and I, CJ, Maddie, Bumpa, Ami, Danny, GiGi, Aunt Kate, Grampa George, Grandma Doris and Rory. Also, some pictures of Danny's after party.
Danny's recital was incredible! I wish I could host some audio that would do it justice.
More to come.
