We kicked off Maddies' birthday celebration, heading to Chicago to allow her to explore the new American Girl store in Water Tower. We gave her $150 to find a play set and some clothes that she and Elizabeth could wear (matching your American Girl doll is apparently a big deal). CJ saw the sign in the distance and pointed it out to his sister. We entered to find the first of two MASSIVE floors packed chock full of a truly unique experience. I found my awestruck gaze matched by most Dad's in this place that is custom made specifically for little girls. Matching outfits in both doll and girl sizes and every situational and occupational play set imaginable was merely the beginning. There was a beauty parlor for your doll to be bathed, hair washed and styled and nails painted. There was a hospital for little friends who lost a tussle with the family dog to be repaired and restored and a full banquet hall to host tea time by appointment several times a day. The goodie counter featured pink, pink and more pink sweets and chocolate for all to enjoy, which we did. Her purchases included some adorable outfits, a sleepover set and a kitchen bake set for her and Elizabeth to enjoy.

Oh my goodness!
What memories you're making! And the story you've told in pictures -- priceless.
One-ok-some of my favorites are Maddie eating her treat with her eyebrow raised, the kids on the couches, and the one where CJ has is arm around Maddie.
Thinking of you as you await yet another blessing!
The Wilkes' (Your hometown stalkers)
I went there once. What a place! Never brave (or rich) enough to go back with the girls! Such cute stuff though. Fun to see her loving it so much.
Just thinking of your future holidays: A Halloween season birthday girl, a Thanksgiving season birthday girl and a Christmas season birthday girl.
You probably have thought of that already! ;-D Yikes.
Wow...looks like an amazing store for little girls! I am sure the girls were in "awe" while they were there! I bet Cassie can't wait to get her own doll now!
