I am sad to report that our beloved fish, Frederica has passed away after 2 YEARS with us! This was the fish that sparked an argument with a then, 3 year old Maddie, about whether or not the fish could make the move from MI to IL with us. Maddie won. I put saran wrap over the top of the fish bowl and poked holes in it and the fish sat at my feet for the 4 hour drive as we picked up and moved our family (fish and all) to Gurnee, IL. Anything I could do to make the move "easier" for the kids I was bound and determined to do. I didn't want to have the abandonment of our fish be the one traumatic incident that Maddie never forgot. Fast forward to today.
Corey says quietly to me "I think Frederica is a goner"
Jen: "I better tell the kids before we flush her"
Jen: "Kids.... I think Frederica died, would you like to help Mommy and Daddy flush her to fishy heaven?"
Maddie: "Aww, she was my best fish ever. She almost NEVER died."
Kids: pretty quiet and they say yes
We all enter the bathroom and dump the fish in the toilet. The kids are still pretty quiet and are just watching all of this unfold. As soon as Corey flushes all 3 kids ERUPT into INSANE LAUGHTER that we flushed the fish down the toilet! There were a few comments about what a ride it would have been if she were not dead. A few creative and slightly naughty ideas of what she may encounter followed by more insane laughing. I guess the loss of a beloved fish was not that traumatic for the Lallo family.
A few more random pictures of Cassie's hair after Maddie styled it, along with CJ's second assembly of the year where they honored the kids who were Homework Hero's (CJ was one of them!!!!) We are so proud of our kids.....they are turning out pretty darn perfect, if we do say so ourselves.

Oh my, Cassie's hair was lovely...I just sat in my computer chair chuckling...lol :) Great job Maddie!! Sorry to hear about the fish..but they didn't seem too heart broken which is a good thing!
Good job Jen! You two make a great blogging team. I loved the stories and the faces. As tired as I was during those early days of motherhood, I was in awe every single day-it's fun to watch you experience the magic.
I love how the fish almost NEVER died...that is perfect! When our fish died, I actually cried. {I don't even care for fish} Keith took Andrew out by our pond where our dog is buried to give Squishy a proper burial. It was pretty traumatic for him.
**I am also happy to report that there is some fun news on my blog...thought you may want to check it out! :)

You guys seem to be "GREAT" parents!
Oh my gosh, Jen what a cute story. I am glad the tragedy was followed by laughter! How is life with 4? I bet better than life with 3:)
I have just spend about an hour enjoying your "shares". Your ability to share so much of your life and family is great. It seems just like yesterday I started teaching in a special "Ms. Clark's room" and just yesterday Michigan Adventure brought two crazy boys together. Thanks for being part of
our "growing up" time.

I am very sorry to hear about your fish...they do become part of the family. I think you guys have a way of taking in strays....hence, Aunt Kristin:)!!!
Cute photos and I am glad that everyone is happy in the Lallo family. I, too, think your kids are just about perfect...must come from GREAT parents!!!
