Fun with the Roemers

Our friends Joan and Tony (who also rented us the Gurnee house we have been calling home for the last 18 months) had the whole fam over for dinner and fun. We had been trying to hook up for months but something always came up. They bought a HUGE box of Lincoln Logs for the kids to play with and gave them some great educational activity books. They have been simply wonderful to us and our kids and are a lot of fun to hang out with. We capped the night with a "hay ride" behind the four wheeler through their property and neighborhood. Then gave the two big kids a chance to take control of the four wheeler with Tony on the back for CJ and me on the back for Maddie. Perhaps some foreshadowing of the future, Maddie rolled to a stop acting like she was done and I raised my hands from their position of readiness to take over. She threw her head back, let out her classic throaty Maddie laugh and hammered the throttle spraying stones behind us. Yikes. Thank you Roemer's for the wonderful night.
