The morning of our departure we went for a quick trip to the Elks park to investigate the pounding waves we could hear from Aime and Bumpas porch. They had died down once we finished breakfast but it was nice to see the beach here on the West Michigan coast. It tends to be a bit rocky 'cross the lake. We took in some fresh air before braving the trip back to Gurnee in the famous Chicago construction season.
