Once a week we get a kid claiming to "not be tired" or "just can't sleep". Past remedies have included a special Mom and Dad cuddle time, late night snack or the old faithful "just close your eyes honey, you'll get tired". Tonight however we went with the "OK, get dressed. Let's go ride some roller coasters!" CJ was in a state of disbelief as he got dressed and snuck downstairs for a guy trip to Six Flags. We arrived an hour and a half before close and fit in a total of 5 roller coaster rides. Completely different experience in the dark. CJ was a HUGE fan of the Demon which featured two upside down loops and 2 upside down licorice whips. When he insisted we brave the Demon a third time Daddy had had about enough but his sweet excitement won out. We caught the nightly parade as we exited and called it a night. Mommy stayed up to hear CJ recount our adventure and check out the pictures including some captures of the boy's face as we went upside down!! We were a tad worried the next day would bring "hmmm, I don't feel tired again tonight" but we promised Maddie she would have the next late night surprise. I loved the opportunity to hang with my best bud.
