Pulling a Tenbrink

PJs

Little back story:  Through our blog we have established and rekindled some great relationships based on our mutual love of kids, family and the craziness that comes with it.  One of these families is the Tenbrinks (who you will find listed in Family and Friends along the left sidebar).

The Tenbrinks are dubbed Crazy Camp Chaos and a quick overview of their blog reveals how fitting a title it is.  Mommy Kristin (formerly Hoffman) heads up the camp (as most Moms do) and invites readers in for a peek.  Just before Christmas, they posted Christmas Traditions and showed off their fantastically festive matching PJ's.  Jen asked if I had seen it and inquired as to whether or not I would wear such bright and fun colors if the rest of the family did.  My mental translation of her words was "Hmmm, Jimmy sure loves his kids and will throw inhibitions to the wind in the spirit of Christmas silliness, would you?"  "Sure." I said non-chalantly.  Christmas was approaching, inventories would run low and what where the odds of her finding them in MY size.  I highly doubted the subject would come up again.  My doubts were dashed when I called home during my commute one day and was informed that we were "pulling a Tenbrink".  No further explanation was needed.  I knew what awaited me.  I am of course embellishing my hesitation for dramatic effect.  Truth be told, I let go of feigned machismo years ago.  I knew it would be a riot.  Granted I would have been more excited for outfits a little more suited to fighting crime as a family a la' THE INCREDIBLES but these would do.  Plus, they are dern comfy.  Thanks for the laughs and inspiration Tenbrinks.  Lets keep this under control next year, k?

OH MY! I told Kristin I may make fun of you as much as I do Jimmy! :) I suppose you are a guy who is man enough to wear absurd jammies in the name of love. I don't see any harm in that. I guess I should also apologize to Jimmy...
